Bible teacher and best-selling author Joyce Meyer has been recognized with a special resolution for outstanding humanitarian and community service by the city of St. Louis.

During a special worship service at the St. Louis Dream Center on Oct. 11, Meyer accepted the resolution from City Alderman Antonio French and delivered a message. "We're both humbled and honored by this recognition of our steadfast commitment and efforts to make a tangible difference in the lives of our neighbors and residents throughout the city and region," she said.

"Wanting nothing more than to be a blessing to others, we intentionally established the Dream Center ... because we want to make a difference in our own community, not just other parts of the world-and we're committed to being here long-term to help them improve their quality of life," added Meyer, who founded the St. Louis Dream Center with her husband, Dave.

Meanwhile, Richard Young's biography--Joyce Meyer: Life of Redemption and Destiny (Whitaker House), which was to be released Oct. 7--sold out in September, and a second printing is now in bookstores, company officials said.

A New York Times best-selling author, Meyer has written more than 80 books. Besides her popular radio and TV program, both titled Enjoying Everyday Life, Meyer's conferences draw thousands each year.
