Organizers of the Stellar Awards, celebrating the best in
gospel music, have announced the Fan Favorite nominations for the 26th annual
prize-giving, to take place Jan. 15 at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville.

Artist of the Year: BeBe & CeCe Winans, Still (BEC/Malaco); Fred Hammond, Love Unstoppable (Verity Gospel Music Group); James Fortune & FIYA, Encore (Black Smoke Music Worldwide); and Marvin Sapp, Here I Am (Verity Gospel Music Group). Song of the Year: Bebe Winans, “Close to You”; Fred Hammond, Calvin Rodgers, Phillip Feaster, Ericka Warren, Michael Bethany, Dynna Wells, “They That Wait”; James Fortune, C. Fortune and T. Vaughn, “Encore”; and Marvin Sapp, “The Best in Me.” In the regular nominations announced in October, Fortune & FIYA led all nominees with 10 listings, including Contemporary Male Vocalist of the Year and Praise & Worship CD of the Year. Other leading nominees named were the Winans and Sapp, with seven nods each. To be hosted by Donnie McClurkin, the Stellar Awards will be taped for broadcast on the Gospel Music Channel.
