Harvest House Publishers author Lisa Boalt Richardson has partnered with Heart for Africa to help build a needed facility for orphans in Kenya.

A certified tea specialist, Richardson said that a portion of the proceeds from her latest book, The World in Your Teacup, will help build a septic system for the orphanage.

"With each book I write, I have made a commitment to give something back," she added. "While doing research for The World in Your Teacup, it became clear that I wanted to reach out to Kenya. Heart for Africa seemed to be the perfect fit-not only is their home office in my city (Atlanta), but I love the work they do. Their office is also home to HOW (Helping Orphans and Widows), which is a jewelry company that features pieces made by women in various villages across Kenya."

Richardson said the proceeds from the sale of the jewelry also support Heart for Africa, and she plans to wear some of the handmade pieces at her speaking engagements and book signings in support of the effort.

A chapter in The World in Your Teacup features a tea from Kenya, a region of the world that has produced tea for more than 100 years. Each destination in the book was photographed by Lauren Rubinstein.

Richardson's first book with Harvest House, Tea With a Twist, was named the U.S. winner in the Tea Book category of the Gourmand World Cookbook Awards.
