Christian retailers are to be given ideas on how to use new technology to drive sales in a special online class, later this week.

The free hour-long Webinar that will show how stores can utilize social media and even Amazon.com's services to their advantage is to be hosted by Christian Retailing magazine Thursday, March 18, 3-4 p.m. EST.

It will be presented by Susan Chipman, director of retail services at Granger Community Church in Granger, Ill., and a regional director for the Church Bookstore Network, as part of the magazine's online Virtual Christian Restock Connection.

"This workshop will be invaluable for stores that want to make the use of new technologies, but don't really know how or where to start," said Christian Retailing Publisher Dave Condiff. "The ideas are easily and quickly implemented and will help retailers get a jump-start in this increasingly important area of business."

Open to 50 registrants, Chipman's "Using New Technology to Market and Sell" presentation will be recorded for subsequent viewing at the Virtual Christian Restock Connection site.

Running through March 30, the restock event features new release information and special offers from suppliers, including Bridge-Logos Foundation, Judson Press, Lighthouse Christian Products, Standard Publishing and Thomas Nelson.

In addition, the online show features a retailers' roundtable discussion on inventory control, leading Bible publishers discussing trends and issues in the category and interviews with best-selling authors Charles Swindoll and Francine Rivers.
