Zondervan is to discontinue its Pradis Bible software, handing off its Bible software titles to other search engines, including Logos Bible Software.

Beginning in early 2010, 31 Zondervan titles representing 87 volumes-including the The Expositor's Bible Commentary, The Zondervan Encyclopedia of the Bible and the Zondervan Illustrated Bible Backgrounds Commentary: Old Testament-will be offered for use with Logos.

"We are going to make sure we, first and foremost, work with the many thousands of Pradis customers for a smooth transition to the new search engines," said Zondervan's Paul Engle, senior vice president and publisher of church, academic and reference resources. "Many of these people have been customers for a dozen years and we will make sure they are eligible for a discount to these new titles upon release."

Zondervan will continue to produce new titles for use in a variety of additional platforms, including the Kindle and Sony Reader as well as mobile devices such as the iPhone and BlackBerry.

Logos President Bob Pritchett said he was "thrilled" to now offer Zondervan titles.
"We share Zondervan's heart for providing biblical resources for everyone who wants to study the Bible, and it's great to be able to partner with them on this project," he said.

To celebrate the new agreement, Logos is offering a pre-publication special of the bundle of 87 Zondervan volumes for $1,999.95-discounted from Logos' normal sale price of $2,161.69.
