InterVarsity Press (IVP) books topped the Christianity Today Book Awards, announced this week by the magazine.

Sixty-seven publishers nominated 436 titles published last year for the publication's annual list of best books. Christianity Today editors selected the top books in each category, with panels of judges then choosing 10 winners and also recognizing 11 awards of merit.

IVP was recognized twice, including book awards in the Christian Living category for Reconciling All Things: A Christian Vision for Justice, Peace and Healing by Emmanuel Katongole and Chris Rice; and Culture Making: Recovering Our Creative Calling by Andy Crouch in the Christianity and Culture category.

Other winners in the 20th annual listing were: History/Biography: Bill Bright & Campus Crusade for Christ: The Renewal of Evangelicalism in Postwar America by John G. Turner (University of North Carolina Press); Apologetics/Evangelism: The Reason for God: Belief in an Age of Skepticism by Timothy Keller (Dutton Adult/Penguin Group USA); Biblical Studies: Stories With Intent: A Comprehensive Guide to the Parables of Jesus by Klyne R. Snodgrass (Wm. B. Eerdmans Publishing Co.); and The Church/Pastoral Leadership: Why We're Not Emergent (By Two Guys Who Should Be) by Kevin DeYoung and Ted Kluck (Moody Publishers).

The full list, including categories, awards of merit and judges' comments, can be found at http://www.christianitytoday.com/ct/2009/february/10.26.html.
