Angel figurine offers prayer reminder

Minnesota-based Holben Design has recently introduced to the Christian market its Prayer Angel, a porcelain figurine designed to hold a photo, greeting card, memorial card, pocket card or Scripture verse as a reminder to pray for family or friends.

The company, owned by Ben and Holly Torrens, recommends that the Prayer Angel is displayed in sections of the store dedicated to greeting cards, bereavement and holidays, to name a few possibilities. The functional figurine makes a unique gift for weddings or other special occasions, or can be added to floral or plant arrangements. It can be used in church, home or office settings.

Taking the start of an idea from Holly's parents, who select one of the greeting cards they receive and pray throughout the day for the person who sent the card, Ben created a metal figurine similar to the now contemporary, white porcelain Prayer Angel, designed after requests started coming in for the original figurines.

"The most rewarding part about our new company is the touching stories we hear from individuals that have been inspired by the Prayer Angel," Ben said. "We have heard encouraging stories about how people struggling with illness or loss of a loved one have found comfort and healing though the Prayer Angel."

With a suggested retail price of $19.95, the Prayer Angel is available to stores at $9.98 per piece if purchasing fewer than 24 or $9.58 each for a case of 24 ($229.92) with free shipping. To order, call 888-584-9083, fax 888-584-8092 or e-mail ben@holbendesign.com.
