Micah Carter assumed the role of spokesperson for B&H Publishing Group’s Holman Christian Standard Bible (HCSB) translation, effective Nov. 15. Carter will focus on educating the marketplace about the distinctive values of the HCSB, from end consumers and retail partners to influencers, including pastors and college and seminary students. He also will assist the Bible development team with publishing strategies for the translation. “Micah Carter has a rich background in pastoral ministry and higher education, including roles of head pastor and adjunct professor at two colleges and a seminary,” said Jeremy Howard, director of Bible and reference book publishing. “We are excited about the knowledge and creativity he will bring to our translation focus going forward.” Carter also has professional experience in communications and publishing, having served as director of communications for LifeWay Christian Resources and publishing team leader for young adult ministry in the company’s church resources division. He holds a Ph.D. in systematic theology from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. The HCSB was translated directly from the original Greek and Hebrew manuscripts by a team of scholars from 17 denominations and is rendered in 21st century language that can be understood by modern readers. |
