Lucado began his writing career with the release of On the Anvil (Tyndale House Publishers) in 1985. Since then has published 31 additional trade books. His unique storytelling style has also led to the publication of numerous fiction, children’s and gift books. His books have landed on best-seller lists such as The New York TimesUSA Today, Wall Street Journal, Publishers Weekly, ECPA and CBA. He’s sold more than 120 million products around the world in more than 50 languages. Lucado’s newest title, Glory Days: Living Your Promised Land Life Now (Thomas Nelson), released in October.

David Moberg, senior vice president and group publisher for HarperCollins Christian Publishing, commented on the milestone.

“Few modern writers can claim the impact and influence that Max Lucado has had on the Christian culture,” Moberg said. “During the last 30 years he has encouraged and inspired hundreds of millions of readers around the world, and it is an honor to publish more than 30 of his best-selling books. We wish him many congratulations on this special anniversary.”

At the celebration, the company honored Lucado and his contribution to the church and Christian publishing with a monetary donation to World Vision, a global Christian humanitarian organization of which the author has been a longtime advocate and supporter.

Mark Schoenwald, president and CEO at HarperCollins Christian, lauded Lucado's achievement.

“It is a true honor to be able to celebrate the impact that Max has had on readers coming to know Christ," Schoenwald said. "At HarperCollins Christian Publishing, Max isn’t just a best-selling author. He is our friend. We congratulate him, his accomplishments and his steadfast commitment to inspiring the world.”
