AnnieTipton-webBarbour Publishing’s children author Annie Tipton has received a Milligan College Professional Excellence Award for her outstanding accomplishments in writing and publishing.

The Milligan College Professional Excellence Award is bestowed upon individuals who have brought distinction to Milligan through professional achievement. Tipton became an award-winning author when her debut title, Diary of a Real Payne Book 1: True Story, won The Old Schoolhouse Magazine’s Blue Ribbon Award for Best Children’s Book for 2013.

Tipton was presented the award at the Celebrate Milligan Awards Dinner on Friday, Oct. 24, during the college’s homecoming celebration. She received her bachelor’s degree in communications at Milligan, located in northeast Tennessee.

“Barbour is proud of Annie Tipton’s achievements in the Christian writing industry and appreciates her hard work,” a company statement said.
