MichelleAnthony-webDavid C Cook has merged all of the company’s learning-resource departments, including Bible-in-Life (BIL), Echoes, Tru, Strategic Partnerships and Field Consulting and Events, into the Learning Resources Group. Michelle Anthony has been named vice president and publisher of Learning Resources Group. Recently announced by Cook, the move was effective July 1.

As Family Ministry Architect for David C Cook since 2009, Dr. Anthony spearheaded the development and launch of the Tru Philosophy and Tru Curriculum, which have become successful ministry-focused brands. A 25-year veteran of church ministry, she holds graduate degrees in Christian education, theology and leadership from Biola University and Talbot Theological Seminary as well as a doctorate in theological education from Southern Theological Seminary.

Anthony is also the author of five books: Spiritual Parenting, Dreaming of More for the Next Generation, A Theology of Family Ministry, The Big God Story and Becoming a Spiritually Formed Family, the latter set for release from David C Cook in January 2015.

“One of the things that I admire most about Michelle is her passion and her belief that the next generation can encounter God as young, yet maturing believers who do not desert it in their teens, but continue on to become self-feeding mature disciples fit to take their place in kingdom work, wherever God places them,” said Dan Rich, chief publishing officer, of the appointment.

Anthony is convinced of the value of ministry to the family at this time.

“This is a critical time in the history of the church where families are being torn apart by the world's values and yet God, through His Spirit, is awakening a generation to lifetime faith!” she said. “My appointment to David C Cook is a strategic blend of church-ministry experience meeting the world of publishing to provide the kind of resources that will meet actual needs and make a legacy impact for generations to come. We have been positioned by God to make a difference in the kingdom, and I feel humbled and thrilled to play my part in this endeavor.”
