Zondervan dominated Outreach Magazine's 8th Annual Outreach Resource of the Year Awards—honoring the best evangelism products—winning seven categories.

As with the past two years, Outreach did not award one overall Outreach Resource of the Year because of the variety of nominated resources and the subjects they covered.

Announced in the magazine's March/April issue, the winner in the Evangelism category was The Best Kept Secret of Christian Mission: Promoting the Gospel With More Than Our Lips by John Dickson (Zondervan), while Many Colors: Cultural Intelligence for a Changing Church by Soong-Chan Rah (Moody Publishers) and Multicultural Ministry Handbook: Connecting Creatively to a Diverse World by David A. Anderson and Margarita R. Cabellon, editors (InterVarsity Press, IVP) were both recognized in the Cross-Cultural Ministry category.

In the Apologetics category, the winners were: God Is Great, God Is Good: Why Believing in God is Reasonable and Responsible by William Lane Craig and Chad Meister, editors (IVP); On Guard: Defending Your Faith With Reason and Precision by William Lane Craig (David C. Cook); and The Rage Against God: How Atheism Led Me to Faith by Peter Hitchens (Zondervan).

In the Justice category, the winner was Humanitarian Jesus: Social Justice and the Cross by Christian Buckley and Ryan Dobson (Moody Publishers).

The winners in the Compassion category were Hurt Healer: Reaching Out to a Broken World by Tony Nolan (Baker Books/Baker Publishing Group) and The Invisible: What the Church Can Do to Find and Serve the Least of These by Arloa Sutter (Wesleyan Publishing House).

In the Leadership category, the winner was Sticky Teams: Keeping Your Leadership Team and Staff on the Same Page by Larry Osborne (Zondervan).

The winner in the Culture category was The Next Christians: The Good News About the End of Christian America by Gabe Lyons (Doubleday Religion).

In the Children's Outreach category, the winners were: Children of God Storybook Bible by Archbishop Desmond Tutu (Zonderkidz); Kindness Counts (The Berenstain Bears) by Jan and Mike Berenstain (Zonderkidz); and That's Where God Is by Dan and Ali Morrow (David C. Cook).

The winner in the Missional Living category was Untamed: Reactivating a Missional Form of Discipleship by Alan Hirsch & Debra Hirsch (Baker Books/Baker Publishing Group).

In the Church Multiplication category, the winners were: Church Planter: The Man, The Message, The Mission by Darrin Patrick (Crossway) and Exponential: How You and Your Friends Can Start a Missional Church Movement by Dave Ferguson and Jon Ferguson (Zondervan).

The winner in the Small-Group Curricula category was The Reason for God (DVD and discussion guide) by Timothy Keller (Zondervan).

Publishers and organizations that produced outreach-related resources submitted nearly approximately 150 nominations. The magazine's editorial staff pared the nominees to 103 resources, which were placed into 12 categories.
