The Christian Broadcasting Network (CBN) has published a list of 10 best-selling books it says its viewers should own.

The guide was compiled by CBN Producer Hannah Goodwyn in a posting at the network's Web site, who noted that Christian bookstores have "shelves and shelves of faith-based novels and Bible teaching books. ... How do you know what to buy?"

Topping her "Ten Christian Best-sellers You Should Own" recommendations is Sarah Young's Jesus Calling (Thomas Nelson), described as featuring "memorable, thought-provoking daily devotionals." At No. 2 on the list is John Eldredge's Wild at Heart (Thomas Nelson), which is "unflinchingly honest about men, women, the heart and the church—all in the name of recovering lost souls to new life in Christ."

Recent best-seller Bonhoeffer (Thomas Nelson), the biography of the German theologian and pastor by Eric Metaxas, makes the list (No. 10), as does Gary Chapman's perennial relationship best-seller, The Five Love Languages (Northfield Publishing/Moody Publishers, No. 3). The only novel on the list is Francine Rivers' Her Mother's Hope (Tyndale House Publishers, No. 5), "an incredible story about the complicated relationships between mothers and daughters."

Rounding out the list are: 4. The Love Dare by Stephen and Alex Kendrick (B&H Books/B&H Publishing Group); 6. Choosing to See by Mary Beth Chapman (Revell/Baker Publishing Group); 7. Outlive Your Life by Max Lucado (Thomas Nelson); 8. 90 Minutes in Heaven by Don Piper and Cecil Murphey (Revell/Baker Publishing Group); and 9. Mere Christianity by C.S. Lewis (Zondervan/HarperCollins).
