altTwo new books reflecting the voices of motherhood past and present are being released in time for Mother’s Day. TV mom Kate Gosselin from the TLC show Jon & Kate Plus 8 comments on the life lessons God has taught her as a mother of twins and sextuplets in Eight Little Faces: A Mom’s Journey ($14.99, April) from Zondervan. Each two-page spread in the gift book includes a photograph from the Gosselin family album, words from Kate and Scripture verses.

Barbour Publishing released in March A Celebration of Mothers, a brand-new collection of Helen Steiner Rice’s poetry that features her best work on the many facets of motherhood. The 96-page padded hardcover book retails for $9.97.

altSwanson Christian Products has come up with a new way to quench thirst. Transparent plastic sports bottles hold 24 ounces and have a metal lid with a strap and a metal base. The bottles come in four colors with individual screen-printed images: pink, “Rejoice”; sea green, “Fish”; blue, “Are You Thirsty?”; and red, “Trust in the Lord.” Retail price is $7.99 each.

Kids and teens can drink in the encouragement from ’ line of trinket holders known as “Can Do” Spiritual Cans. Four designs—one called Don’t Quit—are printed aluminum cans offering the look and design of a soda can, complete with “(Spiritual) Nutrition Facts.” Pop-off tops make the cans suitable holders for notes or mementos, plus each comes with a gift inside. Suggested retail is $18.

Brownlow Gifts’ famous Gourmet Wassail Mix is priced right. The wassail was featured on CBS’ game show The Price Is Right, Dec. 23, during the hi/lo game in which the contestant has to choose the three most expensive items from the six products provided. Brownlow has sold 3.5 million boxes of Gourmet Wassail Mix since it was introduced in 1995.
